Native American Flute Fingering Chart - Six-Hole Pentatonic Minor Flutes

This page gives typical fingerings for the chromatic notes on six-hole Native American flutes (NAFs) that are tuned to the pentatonic minor scale. Fingering charts are provided with finger diagrams in two orientations: mouth-end up and mouth end down (“inverted”).

Note that fingerings on Native American flutes vary from maker to maker (and often among different flutes from the same maker).

The entire set of fingering charts is available in one Native American Flute Fingerings PDF file. You can also click on the page images below to see a larger version of each page, which can be saved or printed directly.
